As appeared yesterday at capital.gr, the inspections will be conducted as part of IAPR’s plan to improve tax compliance during summer months in tourist areas where turnover is rising.

In the relevant decision of the head of the IARP, Mr. G. Pitsilis it is stated that the Independent Public Revenue Authority has decided to intensify partial on-the-spot inspections, both for the control of the fulfillment of tax obligations, the keeping of books and the issuance of the tax elements, as well as for the recording of information on the behavior of the taxpayers, that are recorded and used for further Tax Administration operations, with the ultimate purpose of identifying hidden taxable income for taxpayers exercising any activity or selling goods. The above inspections will be carried out on a daily basis, including public holidays, in the morning, afternoon and evening hours. In order to carry out these inspections, Regional Tax Offices of Corfu, Syros, Thira, Paros, Naxos, Mykonos, Kos, Rhodes and Polygyros and the Investigation and Public Revenue Safeguarding Services (Y.E.D.D.E.) of ATTICA and THESSALONIKI, must be supported by tax officers, for the months of July, August and September. Especially for the Investigation and Public Revenue Safeguarding Services of Attica and Thessaloniki, the inspections will be carried out a) within the territorial authority of the above services b) out of the office for up to two three day periods per month.
